What You Will Do:
The University of Maryland Medical Center, an innovative 800-bed academic medical center, has an opening for a full-time, out-patient kidney/pancreas transplant nutritionist. Join our dynamic clinical nutrition and multidisciplinary teams to provide medical nutrition therapy to pre-kidney and pancreas transplant patients, as well as living kidney donors. This position reviews nutrition screens for all potential kidney transplant recipients and living kidney donors and completes a nutrition assessment as indicated. Educates patients on the nutrition plan of care pre and post-transplant; documents all patient care in an electronic medical record. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to address barriers to transplantation; attends weekly candidate selection meeting. In addition, this position works closely with in-patient RDs and post-transplant RD to ensure continuity of nutrition care. Monitors performance improvement data and participates with clinical nutrition team activities and educates dietetic interns and other healthcare providers. RD certification and licensure in the state of Maryland is required. A 2-year minimum of out-patient nutrition counseling experience, with focus on weight management, renal and diabetes populations preferred.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Two (2) years clinical experience is preferred as a Registered
